🔥 Fitness Tip of the Week: Why You Should Never Skip Your Warmup
A good warmup isn’t just about getting loose — it’s about priming your body and mind to perform.
- Increases blood flow to your working muscles, improving oxygen delivery and energy production
- Elevates core temperature, making muscles more pliable and reducing injury risk
- Activates key movement patterns like hip flexion, glute firing, and ankle mobility
- Sharpens your mental focus so you’re not dragging through the first mile
Whether it’s strides, dynamic drills, or mobility flows, the warmup is where performance begins.
💡 Here's a quick pre-run primer:
- 12 Leg Swings (each leg) forward and back
- 12 Leg Swings across the body
- 10 Hip Circles Each Direction
- 20 Bodyweight Squats
- 10 Lunges w/ Twist Each Leg
- 20 High Knees + 20 Butt Kicks
- 2 x 20m Strides
Pro tip: Move fluidly from one exercise to the next without long rests to keep your heart rate up and transition smoothly into your run.
It’s simple, effective, and keeps you ready for whatever the run throws your way.
